The following resources may help you in establishing and managing your employment background checks.

		The State of New York recently enacted legislation that impacts New York employers who order background checks on their job applicants and/or employees. The change involves NY Corrections Law Article 23-A (Article 23-A) and requires NY employers to perform the following actions commencing on February 1, 2009:
1. Post a copy of Article 23-A in a visually conspicuous place accessible by employees.

2. Provide a copy of Article 23-A to its applicant or employee when requesting an investigative consumer report.

3. Provide a copy of Article 23-A to its applicant or employee whenever a background report includes criminal conviction information.
