Kroll Global Fraud Report finds growing insider threat

According to the 2013/14 Kroll Global Fraud Report, recently published by HireRight’s sister company, 72 per cent of companies have been hit by fraud led by at least one insider, up from 67 per cent last year. Of those victims of fraud, 32 per cent had suffered at least one crime where the main perpetrator was in senior or middle management, 42 per cent where he or she was a junior employee and 23 per cent where an agent or intermediary was the main culprit.

Despite this growing fraud problem, the survey reveals that European companies are less likely than their peers elsewhere to be taking action against it.
