In the heart of the beautiful city of Vienna, our latest research, A Question of Balance – Managing Recruitment Risk, fuelled the conversations at one of the opening master classes of the Corporate Research Forum’s annual conference.
The topic was challenging: all organisations want to avoid a bad hire, but there is a vital balancing act to consider: how do you mitigate risk without putting off a potential candidate?
Chairing the discussion, HireRight’s Steve Girdler was joined by 20 delegates from a cross section of industries, each looking to gain insight into this increasingly significant topic.
It was a lively debate, with delegates agreeing that a first-rate candidate experience is crucial today more than ever – for successful and unsuccessful applicants: both are often a customer and have the potential to influence others at the click of a few social media buttons.
The roundtable kicked off a highly original two day conference where HR leaders from around the globe came together to learn, challenge and be inspired.
On the afternoon of day one delegates were transfixed by the addition of an orchestra where they reflected on the metaphorical similarities and contrasts between orchestral and organisational life – some of the delegates having the once in a lifetime opportunity to actually conduct the orchestra.
Do take a look at our research paper – A Question of Balance – and feel free to share it with colleagues. We’d love to hear your feedback and hope to see you at the next CRF event.
