HireRight’s 2017 EMEA Employment Screening Benchmark Report asked HR professionals from across the region to provide their opinion on the challenges and trends for the year. But what were the most prevalent business challenges HR teams were facing?

Once again finding, retaining and developing talent came out on top, with 50% naming it one of their top challenges. Not only did it remain the most common challenge, but it increased by 10% on 2016, highlighting just how much of an issue it has become.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the current political environment, regulation was also a top concern, with 35% recognising it as a challenge.

But firms are putting their money where their mouth is, with investment priorities matching the top concerns. 54% are investing in keeping good employees, and 44% in finding qualified candidates.
