Although marijuana remains a federally illegal substance, the number of states that permit its use whether for medical or recreational purposes is growing rapidly. Marijuana continues to top the list of the most commonly detected illicit substance across all workforce categories, drug test types and testing reasons.
However, cultural attitudes and new regulatory developments regarding medical and recreational marijuana have created a host of compliance concerns for employers. So, should employers continue to do drug tests for marijuana?
