John Fennelly

John Fennelly

Chief Executive Officer

John Fennelly, chief executive officer for HireRight, leads the company with a strategic vision and strong operational expertise. Throughout his career, he has grown and transformed technology enabled businesses by forging deeper connections with customers and partners, developed global markets, and championed product innovation. Before joining HireRight, Fennelly headed up the wealth management division at Thomson Reuters, where he integrated a number of businesses and drove strong organic growth. Prior to that, he held a number of leadership positions with Xeye, Financial Models Co., Sungard Data Services, and Smith Barney. Fennelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hartwick College.

Tom Spaeth

Tom Spaeth

Chief Financial Officer

Tom Spaeth, chief financial officer for HireRight, brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, investment banking, operations, and business development in the technology, consumer, and banking industries. Prior to HireRight, Spaeth served as CFO at UBM Technology, where he oversaw accounting, finance, sales operations, client delivery, and IT. Additional experience includes corporate finance, consulting, and investment roles at Motorola, Ernst & Young, and Deutsche Bank where he successfully led companies through funding growth, organizational change and international expansion.

Spaeth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance from the University of Wisconsin and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Jim Weber

Jim Weber

Chief Revenue Officer

Jim Weber is the chief revenue officer at HireRight where he oversees the marketing, sales and account management teams. He is responsible for building deeper relationships with customers and driving global revenue growth.

Weber brings more than 20 years of proven experience, most recently as head of wealth management sales at Thomson Reuters. Additional experience includes Barclays Global Investors, California Federal Bank, and First Nationwide Bank.

Weber has a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Cleveland State University and a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s College.

Dawn Hirsch

Dawn Hirsch

Chief Human Resources Officer

Dawn Hirsch is the chief human resources officer at HireRight and is responsible for attracting, developing, and advancing talent across the company. Hirsch brings more than 20 years of experience leading human resources teams in organizational effectiveness, acquisition and integration strategies, culture change and transformation, and talent acquisition for large, global companies.

Prior to HireRight Hirsch served as senior vice president of human resources for inVentiv Health, a global provider of clinical, commercial and consulting services. She also held HR leadership positions at Lend Lease and Thomson Reuters.

Hirsch received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts.

Glenn Pinnel

Glenn Pinnel

Chief Information Officer, HireRight

Glenn is the chief information officer at HireRight where he is responsible for defining the technology strategy and providing the right tools and technology solutions to help HireRight meet its business goals. He also oversees information security, development, infrastructure, QA, architecture and internal systems.

Prior to HireRight, Glenn was CIO of Altegrity and a principal at GWP Technology Consulting LLC, where he led an order fulfillment and ERP engagement in Denmark. He also served as vice president and CIO at Alpharma Inc., a global specialty pharmaceutical firm.

Pinnel received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Saint Thomas Aquinas College in New York.

Gregg Freeman

Gregg Freeman

Vice President and Deputy General Counsel

Gregg Freeman is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of HireRight, with primary responsibility for company legal, compliance and contract functions.

Mr. Freeman joined HireRight in April 2004 as Associate General Counsel, and in January 2010, was appointed Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Before joining HireRight, Mr. Freeman was the Associate General Counsel of Interplay Entertainment Corp., a publicly traded computer entertainment software company. Prior to Interplay, Mr. Freeman was an associate with Brown, Winfield & Canzoneri, a business law firm located in Los Angeles, CA.

Mr. Freeman earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from UCLA, his Juris Doctorate from the UCLA School of Law, and his Master's Degree in Business Administration in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Catherine Aldrich

Vice President of Operations

Catherine Aldrich joined HireRight in November 2009 as Vice President of Operations. Ms. Aldrich is responsible for leading HireRight’s background screening service delivery functions, as well as overseeing HireRight’s consumer compliance departments. With a focus on continuous process improvement, Ms. Aldrich also steers HireRight’s operational excellence teams.

Ms. Aldrich came to HireRight from Accurate Background, where she was Executive Vice President as well as Corporate Compliance Officer relating to all federal and state/local credit reporting laws. Prior to joining Accurate Background, she held the position of Vice President of Product Management at ChoicePoint from 1996–2000.

Ms. Aldrich has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) and has been a member of several professional organizations including the NAPBS Background Screening Credentialing Council (BSCC) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Dan Shoemaker

Dan Shoemaker

Managing Director, Americas

Dan is the managing director for the Americas where he oversees HireRight’s business in the United States, Canada and Latin America. He is responsible for market strategy, business development, client support, and the delivery of HireRight solutions.  He was previously based in London where he led HireRight’s EMEA and APAC business. 

Active within the background screening industry for more than 13 years, Dan has held numerous leadership positions including operations, corporate development and business development. He also served as the 2009-2010 Chairman of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners and one of his key accomplishments was the expansion of the association internationally. Prior work experience includes serving as Assistant Secretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Virginia and managing government affairs for the National Air Transportation Association.

Dan holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University, and a BA in Geography from Virginia Tech.

Mary O'Loughlin

Vice President of Global Customer Experience

Mary O’Loughlin has built numerous partnerships to extend advanced screening solutions to a broad range of industries. She is responsible for the customer and candidate experience, product development and product strategy, as well as overseeing the company’s strategic partners and alliances group.

An expert in the collaborative economy space, Ms. O’Loughlin also leads HireRight’s Sharing Economy Practice, including developing screening solutions that meet the specific requirements and challenges collaborative economy marketplaces face, as well as overseeing market launch and outreach.

Previously, Ms. O’Loughlin co-founded Joppel, a health care technology startup company, where she directed strategy, business development, operations, and investor fundraising. Prior to that, she served as vice president, strategic alliances for SecureHorizons and Ovations at United Health Group. Ms. O’Loughlin holds a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College. 

Steven Spencer

Managing Director of Transportation and Healthcare

Steven is the managing director for the transportation and heath care business lines at HireRight. He brings more than 25 years of experience in business development, operations, sales and product innovation. Steven joined HireRight in 1999, where he created the account management program for the transportation division and was responsible for building deeper customer relationships and driving revenue growth.

Prior to his tenure at HireRight, Steven held several management positions with Commercial Financial Services. He developed and implemented a standard operating procedure for portfolio management and led teams in operations and collections. In addition, he also has retail sales and management experience.

Steven holds a B.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis in management and compliance from Missouri Southern State University. Steven is also active with some of the primary industry associations.

Suzi Earhart

Suzi Earhart

Vice President, Applicant and Client Care

Suzi Earhart joined HireRight in 2013 and brings more than 20 years of experience in improving contact centers through roles in Operations, Product Management, Information Technology and Training. She repeatedly leverages contact center processes and technologies to transform contact centers to attain higher Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and better quality.

Prior to joining HireRight, Suzi served as Vice President, Customer Experience for FleetOne a financial services company supporting the Transportation Industry. She also held various positions at Asurion, Avaya, and AT&T. Suzi graduated with a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems and mathematics from Regis University, Summa Cum Laude.

Steve Girdler

Managing Director, EMEA

Steve Girdler is HireRight’s Managing Director for EMEA responsible for growing HireRight’s client base and capabilities in the region with offices in the UK, Poland and Estonia. 

Steve joined HireRight in April 2013 from a background in executive management, business development, marketing and product development with expertise in the resourcing, HR solutions and professional services industries. He has worked for KPMG as well as some of the largest names in the resourcing and outsourcing industry such as Manpower, Kelly Services and Adecco. In his most recent role at Adecco he was Director of London 2012, a three year endeavor that included the successful recruitment and delivery of 8,300 staff for the Olympic games as well as the management of the Adecco Olympic sponsorship. The project was lauded in the media and Government for delivering the most diverse and inclusive games ever through the development of innovative tools and programs.

Rachel Trindade

Rachel Trindade

Vice President of Marketing

Rachel Trindade joined HireRight in 2004 and was named Vice President of Marketing in March 2013. She is responsible for leading HireRight’s Marketing, Field Operations, and Business Development functions, focusing on branding strategy and demand generation execution leading to new customer acquisition across the large, mid-market, and small business markets. Previously at HireRight, Ms. Trindade led the integration of the Go-to-Market functions during the USIS, NDI, Powerchex, and Kroll mergers/acquisitions. She also built HireRight’s field operations and sales engineering organizations, and led Global Market Development to better support the requirements of major multinational organizations. She also pioneered and launched the HireRight Benchmarking Survey, the first ever survey and report of its kind in the background screening industry. Before joining HireRight, Ms. Trindade served as the Market Segment Manager for MGE UPS Systems (a subsidiary of Schneider Electric), where she launched the first fuel cell powered UPS into the market and managed the inverter and power conditioner product lines.

Ms. Trindade began her career in product management and cooperative advertising at a major computer supplies distributor. She supported the spin off and IPO of PFSweb, a leading eCommerce and Business Process Outsourcer through various corporate communications, marketing, and client services management roles.

Ms. Trindade holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
