HireRight India Charging Ahead into 2020
Marcel Solomon, HireRight's General Manager of India, gives an update following two events in the country to promote the HireRight's 2019 India Benchmark Report.
As we come towards the end of 2019, I recently had the honour and privilege of hosting two networking events for HireRight India’s customers in Bangalore and Gurgaon. In the glistening halls of The Leela Palace and The Leela Ambience respectively, we spent the evenings sharing industry best practices and forging stronger ties, accompanied of course by a sumptuous dinner and drinks.
Beyond the glitz, the glamour, and the networking, it also provided us with a moment to reflect on the opportunities and challenges that lie in wait.
Despite the current global economic climate, we know that India continues to be one of the fastest growing markets in Asia Pacific, if not the world. We’re leading from the front when it comes to telecommuting and flexible working practices, which has helped improve our productivity and attrition rates. And as a nation full of energy and ambition, our hiring forecasts remain highly positive.
However, that’s not to say that everything is rosy in hiring. Over the course of the evenings, our clients shared their feedback, concerns, and challenges – from campus and employment verifications, to rescreening existing employees, introducing consistent and comprehensive background screening comes with its difficulties.
At HireRight, we make it our mission to collaborate with our customers to help them overcome the hurdles and prepare for coming months – so we take pride in these open conversations and evolving our business to ensure we’re taking these comments on board.
However, it’s also about what we can offer the community – as such, we were delighted to share the findings from our latest HireRight India Employment Screening Benchmark Report. I was further joined by Caroline Smith, Deputy General Counsel for HireRight, who provided updates on the regulatory landscape in India and beyond, and what that means for screening.
Other key takeaways of the events included:
HireRight’s growing capabilities in the region… – HireRight recently acquired J-Screen and PeopleCheck, leading background screening providers based in Tokyo, Japan and Sydney, Australia, respectively. These strategic additions will allow us to deliver a superior offering for global customers seeking to hire from or in APAC, while customers based in the region will experience enhanced on-the-ground services.
…and in India – We’re expanding our customer experience team and continuing to enhance our local product portfolio to further enable our clients to mitigate candidate risk. Suffice to say, there’s plenty in the pipeline, so watch this space!
I’d like to thank all those who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend, and we hope you found the discussions as fruitful as we did. It is only through such partnership that HireRight can continually deliver a world-leading service.
Hope you enjoy reading the 2019 HireRight India Employment Screening Benchmark Report.
