#LifeAtHireRight – Embracing Equity on International Women’s Day
Hear how our team members around the globe are #EmbracingEquity for International Women's Day 2023.
Here at HireRight, our teams work hard to build the future of screening services while striving to put the customer first. But what is it like to work here? And who are the employees behind our background screening and workforce solutions?
We are committed to building a workplace free of stereotypes, discrimination, and gender bias. I am grateful to be president of the WorldWideWomen (WWW) employee affinity group here at HireRight, alongside our other peer-led groups like Pride, Black Lives Matter, Hispanic Organization for Latinos/as and Allies, and Asian Pacific Islanders. These groups have moved forward in the past few years to bring together our team members for a common cause, and allow us to learn and share, together.
Today, and all month, we are celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the globe. This year, we are excited to embrace equity for International Women’s Day.
Ultimately, the WWW group is a safe space for people to share stories and experiences and ask questions. We also want to empower women to be successful – whatever that definition of success is for them.
Our group continues to be an open door, where our members help us determine the agenda for the year on topics that matter for the lives of women of all ages, including work/life balance, dealing with menopause and equity in the workforce.
The WWW group continues to tell stories through inspirational women in the company. This year, on International Women’s Day, we have planned a live interview with our Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Sponsor, Maria Moore. We expect to be hearing about the highs and lows of Maria’s career journey and how she got to where she is today. I am fortunate to work closely with Maria and continue to be inspired by her and am looking forward to the interview!
My favorite part of International Women’s Day is hearing from our team members across the organization – women, as well as allies. Here is how they plan to #EmbraceEquity this year – in their words.
Rachell Vasquez, United States
I will #EmbraceEquity by empowering my peers on the sales team and broader organization to be their best self and support their aspirations, goals, and needs.
Maria Moore, United States

Teresa Fitzgibbons, United Kingdom
I will #EmbraceEquity by seeing and treating everyone as individuals and will discuss with my peers how we can embrace equity across the marketing team and beyond.
Suzanne DeBow, United States
I will #EmbraceEquity by realizing that equality-based solutions are no longer enough, and work to include and welcome diverse life experiences for every person in my life. I want to someday see a world where we can see that people are all different and embrace that.
Joanna Hall, United Kingdom
I pledge to #embraceequity by listening first and trying to challenge my inner monologue's bias when she pipes up!!
Maura Craig, United States
I will #EmbraceEquity today and always work to forge an equal world for all.
Alex Scott, United Kingdom

Leann Berte, United States
I will #EmbraceEquity by caring for people and celebrating our differences that makes us unique. Together, we produce threads in a fabric that makes us special and beautiful.
Nick Stutzman, United States
I believe that #EmbraceEquity is not only a theme/idea but is something we need to strive for in our society. I want to live in a world where we can be different but still see the success of someone else and be joyful. When everyone is included, we see better ideas, delightful outcomes, compassion to others, and progression towards a common goal of unity. And I want to be an example for my family, friends, and coworkers so that they can believe in equity too.
Robert Harwood Reid, United Kingdom
I will wholeheartedly #EmbraceEquity by creating and contributing to spaces that make everyone feel they belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
Erica Presley, United States
I will #EmbaceEquity by embracing differences and creating a work environment where everyone feels seen and valued, as well as by being an example for my daughter and challenging others to ensure she, and others, are treated fairly and with respect.
Tom Sayer, United Kingdom
I will #EmbraceEquity because I want my daughter to grow up in a world where she, and everybody else, is treated fairly by others. I strive to set a good example and to have the courage to challenge others who aren’t.
Anne Sharp, United Kingdom
I will #EmbraceEquity as I know that everyone comes from a different place, with different challenges so we need to live in a world where we respect everyone for who they are, as who they are is just perfect!
Peter Cleverton, United Kingdom
I will #EmbraceEquity because I want everyone to always have an opportunity with no bias towards their sexual orientation, race, or gender. I hope my children live in a world where everyone is viewed equally and given the same opportunities.
