On October 10-13,2023, thousands of Human Resources (HR) professionals from around the world gathered in Las Vegas for the HR Technology Conference. This annual event is the world’s largest and longest-running HR technology conference, showcasing the latest solutions, strategies, and processes to help HR teams drive business success through technology.
HireRight was thrilled to participate as an exhibitor once again this year. We showcased our solutions with live demonstrations from our experts, our Associate General Counsel Alonzo Martinez hosted an HR Tech Talk, and we even had an exciting Rollerball game in our booth. Here are our top four takeaways from the HR Tech 2023:
Engaging With Our Customers
Our team had a blast interacting with customers and new faces at the HireRight booth all week long. On opening night, we were a stop on the “Pub Crawl,” which gave us a chance to get to know show attendees and provide a much-needed libation after a long day.
Throughout the show, HireRight solutions experts were on hand to give live, personalized demonstrations. Attendees who were new to HireRight, or looking for a background screening solution, could get a first-hand look at what we had to offer. They could share their specific situation, and we would show them how HireRight could help them meet their needs.
Once again, HireRight hosted its annual HR Tech party at the 1923 Prohibition Bar at the Mandalay Bay. This year, we were excited to have Oracle co-host the event! Guests were given access to a secret entrance to the speakeasy-themed bourbon bar and treated to specialty food and drinks.
Our favorite part of the HR Technology Conference was hearing from HireRight customers about how our solutions have helped them speed up their talent acquisition programs and make more informed hiring decisions. We’re passionate about helping our customers succeed, and it’s incredibly rewarding to hear how our solutions are making a difference in their businesses.
The Power of Our Partnership

We work closely with our partners to create award-winning user experiences and streamlined processes for background checks. We’re committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience, and our partnerships help us do just that.
This year, at the HR Technology Conference, nineteen strategic alliance partners sponsored or attended the conference alongside HireRight, including Oracle, iCIMS, Paradox, Workday, UKG, and Ceridian. We talked to booth visitors about HireRight solutions and directed them to the appropriate strategic alliance partners as needed.
HireRight and our strategic alliance partners teamed up to provide the hit Rollerball Game at our booth. Booth attendees could choose a HireRight strategic alliance partner to play for, and the person with the fastest time won a great prize. At the end of the conference, we tallied the wins for each partner, and the winner was Workday!
Maura Craig, Senior Partner Marketing Manager remarked on the event: “The opportunity to meet and network with so many strategic alliance partners in one place was unmatched. Having an impromptu breakfast with a new integrated customer and being able to provide in-person introductions to customers looking for a new HCM or ATS partners is invaluable. I met customers who just wanted to say “thanks” and others who were referring us new business”.
HR Tech Talk
HireRight Associate General Counsel Alonzo Martinez gave his third annual Tech Talk, titled “Unleashing Speed, Precision, and Innovation with AI Decisioning in Employment.” This year’s talk focused on artificial intelligence (AI) compliance considerations for employers in the hiring process. Alonzo covered the latest advances in AI hiring technology while navigating key state and local laws. Afterwards, he hosted a special “Convo with Counsel” in the HireRight booth to discuss the details one-on-one with attendees.
Alonzo gave his thoughts on the topic:
“This year’s talk has brought the conversation about AI in employment decisions full circle. Two years ago, the focus was on the race to regulate AI. Today, lawmakers and regulators are taking action to address discrimination by AI in employment. It’s evident that many employers want AI to play a role in employment decision-making, but there are legal and regulatory challenges surrounding its use, especially when it comes to bias and discrimination. As we move forward, it’s essential to strike a balance between using AI for efficiency and precision in background checks while upholding the principles of fairness and non-discrimination. AI should be seen as a valuable resource for automating processes, but a thoughtful and human-centered approach remains paramount when it comes to critical employment decisions.”

Many of us at HireRight work remotely, so we may not often get the chance to see each other in person. But when we do, it’s special. At the recent HR Tech Conference, we had the chance to meet up and reconnect face-to-face, some of us for the first time! We enjoyed working together at the show, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with our team members in person.
