At HireRight, we continue to refine our operational processes to protect the environment by focusing on waste reduction, carbon and climate issues, and the preservation of natural resources. Through innovative products and automation, we continually strive to innovate in this space and provide new solutions to industry issues.

- Climate change: HireRight is committed to addressing climate change and is in the process of setting its science-based targets and signing onto the [Science Based Targets initiative](https://sciencebasedtargets.org/) (SBTi), to target and reduce carbon emissions by 2050, as outlined in the United Nations 2019 Paris Agreement. Our focus will be around reducing our Scope 3 emissions.
- Environmental impact: HireRight discloses its environmental impact through globally recognized bodies, [CDP](https://www.cdp.net/en/) and [Ecovadis](https://ecovadis.com/). In 2023, HireRight recorded its GHG emissions in category Scope 1, 2, and 3, revealing low fossil fuel consumption—around 1% of the company’s carbon footprint.

We support all our global employees through comprehensive benefits programs, total rewards, volunteering, and giving initiatives. We also ensure our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to work, collaborate and grow their careers.

- [Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)](https://www.hireright.com/company/diversity-equity-and-inclusion): HireRight recently partnered with a third-party consultant to completely review its policies and set the vision for its future. Additionally, the company has doubled its number of employee affinity groups from three to six, identifying the communities that are important to its team members.
- [Volunteering and philanthropy](https://www.hireright.com/company/volunteering-philanthropy): Each HireRight office is supported by a culture club of team member volunteers who coordinate office-wide events, volunteer activities, and celebrations. In 2023, HireRight’s culture clubs will be launched several new employee initiatives to help support local communities.
- Learning and development: HireRight is committed to providing its team members with opportunities to grow personally and professionally throughout their careers at the company.

HireRight is committed to the highest standard of corporate governance. Governance is informed by our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

The board is responsible for oversight of our corporate governance structure and management’s execution of our obligations thereunder.

Our executive leadership team directs the operations of the company, considering the advice of the board and relevant interests of the company’s stakeholders.

- Information security compliance: HireRight adheres to two key information security standards which are audited on a recurring schedule. HireRight has ISO 27001: 2022 certification, which also governs HireRight policies, standards, and procedures globally.  A SOC 2 Type II report is also obtained and applies to our services in North America.
- Policies: HireRight has several standalone policies including a [Code of Business Conduct and Ethics](https://www.hireright.com/legal/code-of-business-conduct-and-ethics), Anti-Corruption Policy, [Environmental Policy](https://www.hireright.com/legal/environmental-policy), Health and Safety Policy, and [Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement](https://www.hireright.com/legal/modern-slavery-statement). - Employee training: All employees undergo training (regarding compliance, fraud, and ethics) upon hire and annually thereafter, including, but not limited to, workplace harassment, anti-bias, whistleblower and anti-fraud training, global privacy compliance training (including GDPR and FCRA), anti-bribery and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act training, and information security training. 


As a global company, HireRight’s reach is extensive, and we know it is critical that we take consistent action to promote good corporate citizenship and lead the way with our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.

HireRight accomplishes its ESG goals through strategic business decisions, technology and system design, and team member education and accountability.
