Only for candidates working in India.

Why Order a Moonlighting Check?
Over recent years there’s been a reported rise in the number of individuals in India working for two or more employers at the same time;* a practice referred to as moonlighting or dual employment.
Moonlighting can be rewarding for employees giving them opportunities to develop new skills, gain additional experience and extend their professional network, for example.
If managed effectively, you can harness the benefits employees might gain from moonlighting helping to create a more motivated, loyal, and skilled workforce. You may therefore have policies in place which support moonlighting but, under certain conditions.

However, moonlighting can also introduce risks for your employee base and company as follows:
Reduced performance and productivity. Working for two employers at the same time is likely to involve longer working hours and can make it more challenging for your employee to be fully committed to your organisation. This could contribute to employee burnout.
Conflict of interests. If your employee is also working for one of your competitors this can increase the chances of them sharing your organisation’s sensitive and confidential information and customer data with that competitor.
Misuse of your company resources. Your employee may use, for example, your company-provided hardware and software for the benefit of their other employer at your expense. This also exposes your organisation to an increased risk of information security breaches.
A moonlighting check identifies if your new hires or existing employees have been or are working for two or more employers at the same time.
You can then explore this further with your candidate to understand more about why they have been or are moonlighting, how, and to help ensure when they are working for you, they do so in accordance with your employment policies.

Moonlighting Check
HireRight’s Moonlighting Check helps you to quickly and easily identify if your new hires or existing employees' have been or are engaged in dual employment in India. Our service searches employment records from one of India’s largest sources of employment information – the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) scheme. The service quickly and securely obtains all employment records connected to your candidate’s Universal Account Number (UAN) held by the EFPO via our partner’s API integration into the EPFO database.
HireRight will then identify, from the employment history obtained, if your candidate has any periods of overlapping employment history to determine if they are or have been moonlighting.
